The Children of Panama – an iPhoneographic essay
Here at the MPA we are big fans of music. We often liken a single picture to a song and a series of images to a full-length LP (remember the LP?) – the idea being the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Each of the shots in the gallery below by iPhoneographer Dixon Hamby could easily stand on it’s own – taken together we begin to see a bigger picture, we hear the whole album if you will, and the story takes on a larger, deeper significance…
“My favorite subject to take photos of in Panama is the children. They seem so happy to have their photos taken and never beg for money like in some other countries to which I have been. I quit trying to take photos of children in the USA because many of them are afraid of strangers and parents don’t want you taking photos of their children. Not in Panama, here the children joyously pose for you.”
